Online applications for summer incoming classes in the Master of Science — Family Nurse Practitioner Degree Program are available through NursingCAS. Applications open each year by Aug. 15 and close at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern time) Oct 15.
*Transcripts must reflect the bachelor’s degree awarded, including date awarded and major(s). NursingCAS does not verify bachelor’s degrees if degrees and dates awarded are not reflected on the transcripts. For those who are recent graduates, it may take several weeks to months for new degrees to be reflected on official transcripts.
Students applying for the M.S. — Family Nurse Practitioner Degree Program should complete a NursingCAS application and meet selection criteria. Following that process, a select pool of qualified applicants will receive an invitation to apply through the UC Davis Graduate Studies application. All invited applicants must meet UC Davis graduate admissions requirements.
Admissions decisions are made on a case-by-case basis. Meeting some or all of these criteria does not guarantee admission, but merely eligibility. Admission is competitive.
All prerequisites are required at the college level from an accredited school and must be included on the submitted transcript as part of the NursingCAS application process. Prerequisites may not be in progress at the time of application submission. Each prerequisite is expected to be one full course, either a quarter or a semester, and a minimum of three units, depending on the location where it was completed. Completion of prerequisite course work online is acceptable if it is from an accredited academic institution. Advanced Placement scores awarded in high school do NOT fulfill prerequisites. If an applicant has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Degree from an accredited university, he or she is not required to complete any prerequisite courses. If an applicant has an Associate Degree in Nursing with a bachelor's degree in another field, he or she must have completed all of the prerequisite courses listed below. All prerequisite courses must be completed with a grade of C or better:
* It is desired that the human anatomy and human physiology prerequisite courses be completed within the past five years of when you plan to apply. Competitive applicants should self-assess their strengths. If it has been a number of years since courses were completed, applicants may want to consider retaking them.

Each student admitted to the family nurse practitioner program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing receives generous financial support to cover approximately 30% of University of California in-state tuition and fees.

Tuition and fees for the Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Graduate Degree Program are set by the Regents of the University of California and can change without notice. Scholarship, award and loan-repayment options
Information about various financial aid resources available for clinical education (grants, scholarships, fellowships, loan programs and short-term loans) is provided through the UC Davis Health Financial Aid Office. There are different procedures for applying for each type of financial assistance and they are not program-specific to the School of Nursing.
Both federal and state resources provide a range of flexible repayment options, including, but not limited to, income-based and income-contingent repayment plans, as well as loan-forgiveness benefits. Other forms of assistance, such as short-term and interest-free loans, are also available to enrolled students. A member of the UC Davis Health Financial Aid Office can answer questions regarding these programs and discuss how to best meet your financial aid needs.

Applications received between Oct. 16 and May 1 are reviewed if the program has space after reviewing general deadline applicants.

An application and materials must have a "complete" (all materials received and pending verification) or ”verified” application status by the deadline. It is the applicants’ responsibility to monitor the status of their applications and application materials on a regular basis. NursingCAS does NOT notify applicants if applications are incomplete or documents are missing.
