The Telangana Buildings (Lease, Rent and Eviction) Control Act, 1960 is a law that regulates the leasing of buildings, the control of rent thereof and the prevention of unreasonable eviction of tenants therefrom in the State of Telangana.
The Act defines a “building” as any structure used or intended to be used for human habitation, and a “tenant” as any person who occupies a building under a lease. The Act also defines the terms “fair rent” and “agreed rent”.

The rent agreement registration is not mandatory for 11 months of agreement in Telangana. The Registration Act, 1908, mandates registration of a lease agreement, if the rent period is more than 12 months. So, if you have a rent agreement for 11 months, it is not necessary to register it.
