Is there a list of mortgage definitions?

I have an offset mortgage - what does linking mean?

You can offset a number of eligible Barclays accounts and use them to reduce your mortgage payments or mortgage term. This is known as linking.
By linking an account with your offset mortgage, you’ll only pay interest on the difference between your mortgage amount and the net credit balances in your linked accounts.

If you have a credit balance on your current account or have money in a savings account or cash ISA* for example, you can offset this. You may wish to check whether offsetting your account is right for you. This may depend on your personal circumstances and requirements as well as the interest rates payable on your accounts.

*If in the future you don’t want to offset your ISA accounts, you will not have lost your historical tax-free cash ISA capital allowance.
